Bio
Geunseok Yang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at HanKyong National University. He earned his Ph.D. and M.S. in Computer Science from the Department of Computer Science at the University of Seoul in 2020 and 2015, respectively, under the supervision of Dr. Byungjeong Lee. He completed his B.S. in Computer Science and Engineering at the Korea University of Technology and Education in 2013.
Before beginning his academic career, Dr. Yang built extensive experience in the tech industry, working for five years as a Software Developer, AI Developer, and Data Scientist at Seoul Shinmun Corporation, Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation (MBC), and Kookmin Bank Corporation (KB Bank).
His research interests include Retrieval-Augmented Generation Small Large Language Models (RAG-sLLMs), Large Language Models (LLMs), Small Language Models (SLMs), and Large Multimodal Models (LMMs), with applications in software engineering. He focuses on leveraging these advanced models to drive AI-powered DevOps, agile-based microservice architectures (MSA), KubeFlow with Kubernetes (K8S/K9S), multi-cloud architectures, and the integration of AI and data science to enhance software engineering processes.
